Like everyone else, I’m forever looking for easy and delicious ideas for entertaining, key word here is easy!
This recipe for Fig and Blue Cheese Pinwheels has only 4 ingredients, and they’re ingredients that are always on hand in my kitchen making this a perfect recipe for last minute entertaining.
You should always have a package or two of puff pastry in your freezer. It’s so versatile, it can be used in everything from appetizer to main dish to dessert. And it makes your recipe seem just a little more special!
The same goes for fig spread. I alway use Dalmatia (is there any other?!) and I always have a few jars on hand. Again, perfect for snacking, appetizers, main dish to dessert. It’s fabulous on pork tenderloin, mixed with bourbon and poured over ice cream or serve with Brie. See below for more great fig spread recipes or type fig in the search box for all of my fig recipes.
Back to the pinwheels. These take only about 10 minutes to pull together. You can make the rolls ahead of time, wrap in plastic wrap and store in the fridge. When ready to bake, remove, slice and bake – couldn’t be easier! The pinwheels are actually easier to slice when chilled.
The short ingredient list plus the short prep time make this recipe a definite winner.
