Servings: 12 sliders
Ingredients
  • 6 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 2 large sweet onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 3 sprigs plus 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, divided
  • 12 slider buns, halved
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • 8 ounces smoked gouda, thinly sliced or grated
  • 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 3 tablespoons butter. Add onion and season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about 15 minutes. Stir in balsamic vinegar and 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves and cook 2 minutes or until liquid is evaporated.
  3. Place bottom halves of slider buns on a baking sheet and top with roast beef, caramelized onions, gouda cheese, and slider bun tops.

  4. Melt 2 tablespoons butter and brush on top of buns. Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning over buns.

  5. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and sliders are warmed through.

  6. While sliders are baking, make au jus. Add remaining 1 tablespoon butter to same skillet and melt over medium heat. Add garlic and cook 1 minute, then add beef broth, Worcestershire, and thyme sprigs. Simmer 5 minutes. Remove thyme sprigs. Serve sliders with au jus for dipping.
