Crispy Banana & Cream Stuffed French Toast

Ingredients
  • 4 slices whole wheat bread
  • 6 tablespoons peanut butter, divided
  • 2/3 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 large egg2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 packets Cream of Wheat Bananas & Cream Instant Hot Cereal (2/3 cup)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
  1. Spread peanut butter evenly on 4 slices bread.  Arrange strawberries over peanut butter on 2 slices. Place remaining bread slices over strawberries to make 2 sandwiches.  

  2. Beat egg and milk in a shallow bowl until well blended. Dip sandwiches, one at a time, into egg mixture, allowing the egg to soak into the sandwich. Then dip into cereal, turning to evenly coat both sides.
  3. Melt butter in large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add sandwiches and cook 6 to 8 minutes or until golden brown on both sides, turning once. Serve with maple syrup, if desired.
