Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Ingredients
  • 1 cup chopped good quality chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • strawberries washed and dried
Instructions
  1. Combine chocolate and shortening in a 1 cup glass measure.  Microwave on High 1 minute.  Stir. Microwave 30 seconds and stir until smooth.  If needed, microwave 15 seconds and stir again.  Be careful not to overcook or chocolate will become hard.
  2. Dip strawberries in melted chocolate and arrange on parchment covered tray or baking sheet. 

  3. Berries can be dipped in coconut or sprinkles or you can drizzle with white chocolate (tint the chocolate to tie in to the occasion).  See below to see how to add a white chocolate swirl.

  4. Refrigerated until ready to serve.
