This recipe for Strawberry Rosé Sangria that I developed for Skinnygirl, uses Skinnygirl Preserves to sweeten the sangria without adding sugar or too many extra calories. The preserves add just the right amount of sweet flavor to this rosé based sangria that’s spiked with vodka.
I love the subtle spice from the ginger liquor, but if you don’t have it, you can always substitute something else. Any fruity or herbal liquor would work in this.
I like a little punch in my cocktails, so I added some vodka, but then balanced that out with seltzer to lighten it up and add some sparkle.
Be sure to add lots of fruit, it adds to the flavor, and of course, just make this cocktail look so pretty.
This Sangria will make your New Year’s Sparkle for sure. Cheers!
- ¼ cup Skinnygirl™ sugar free Cocktail Inspired Preserves – Strawberry Rosé, melted
- ¼ cup ginger liquor*
- 1 bottle (750 ml) rosé, chilled
- ¼ cup vodka, optional
- 1 orange, halved and sliced
- 2 cups strawberries, sliced
- 2 cups seltzer, optional**
-
Whisk Skinnygirl Preserves and ginger liquor in large pitcher until combined. Add rosé, vodka and fruit and stir. Refrigerate 2 to 4 hours to allow flavors to blend.
-
Just before serving add seltzer. Pour the sangria into ice filled glasses and garnish with fresh fruit.
*You can substitute your favorite liquor for ginger liquor. Fruit flavored liquors like Cointreau and Grand Marnier are good choices.
** This sangria is delicious with or without the seltzer. Adding seltzer will lighten up the sangria in taste and calories.
